The second child of Aldert and Lilia Crownguard, Lux showed the strong potential for intellectual aptitude at a very young age. An avid reader and learner, she often found herself the center of attention at social gatherings, and was well-loved by many.
Her father's intention was to push his daughter toward the Swords of the Savior like he had her brother (and, indirectly, her older cousin Ky), and much like all other Crownguards had before her. Things changed, however, when Lux's Enlightened abilities manifested. Naturally at a young age, as she tended to trend in that direction with her learning as well, Aldert was dismayed to find that his daughter did not have the typing ideal for employ with the Swords. Naturally not as sturdy as her brother and cousin, her position within the Crownguard family's grand vision was questioned, and while she could have likely done well in the academic circuit, her father felt that that alone would not be enough.
The family's influence fading over so many generations--the general public felt the Crownguard family could not relate to them personally, and that their only concern was their own prestige--something needed to be done to help the estate stay relevant. It was proposed that Luxanna be betrothed to one of the sons of the Flourite family, Fai; this union between a somewhat lower noble family with the illustrious Crownguard family would be seen as the beginning of an outreach toward those lesser than them. It was announced shortly after her fourth birthday; the two would be married in the summer of her eighteenth year.
Raised beside Fai and his brother Yuui, Lux knew at a very young age that she did not love her fiancé. The expectation of marriage and carrying on a family upset her, although she would never outwardly say it. Instead, Lux threw herself headfirst into her studies, as well as working hard to hone her Enlightened abilities. She graduated early, at age 15, and was thought to have a bright future ahead of her with the Flourite family. Expectations were high, as Fai's mother was personally blamed for the strange typings of both her sons; it would be expected that Lux, being of an ideal typing (Psychic and Fairy), that she would normalize it.
Shortly after her sixteenth birthday, Lux decided that, before she would embark on the adventure of being a wife, she wished to have an adventure of her own, outside the walls of the Crownguard estate. Running off with her first and only pokémon friend, a dratini named Camille, she set out to see as much of the world that she could in so little time, and to live out an adventure like she had read about in her books. Meeting many interesting people along the way, it was a chance encounter with Ezreal that changed her the most. With his encouragement, she broke off her engagement to Fai in the spring of that year, shortly thereafter beginning a relationship with the delver.
Despite her denouncement of her father's intentions for her marriage, Lux, both through her intellect as well as social connections, managed to secure a well-paying position as a field researcher with the Seekers, an organization that specializes in uncovering the mysteries of the region's past. Her most recent exploits include research and excavation of ruins relating to a device known as the Pokédex, a pocket-sized device connected to a much larger pokémon database. It is her hope that, through her research, they will be able to bring this functionality to warp bands within the year. She has also been seen around the Swords of the Savior barracks of late, although just what she is doing there is hard to say. She can also be found assisting in Prodigal Explorer, an engineering and items shop located in the business district of Union.

PERSONALITY |
On the surface, Lux is all smiles, the light in a world of darkness, and was for many people in Demacia a beacon of light and hope that they often looked up to. Jovial and outgoing, she strives to inspire the best out of all around her, and while she can be a bit eccentric, for many she is a leader and one to look up to.
But in the presence of light, we can find even the darkest of shadows, and Lux is certainly no exception.
As a child, Lux was in many ways a delightful prankster. Highly intelligent, extremely versatile, and more than willing to show it, she was known to use her light magic to surprise and delight others. She in many ways was and still is quite the performer, loving to be praised and thrust into the limelight. This much has not changed, and while she may not be the little trickster that she was before attending the magic college, she thrives in social situations, fluttering about and making certain she's talked to everyone at least once. Given her somewhat unorthodox and sheltered upbringing, however, she can come off as a bit... odd for lack of a better term (her laugh command in-game is shrill and awkward, and most of her joke commands are often quite odd).
Not only socially adept in some sense of the word, Lux is very intelligent. Something that sets her apart from her peers is her ability to learn, often with little more than through observation, as well as adaptation. Lux applies what she learns and makes it her own, making her a force to be reckoned with not only on the battlefield but also the classroom. However, she does not use this talent to question things such as authority, seeing it as absolute; good will rise over evil, justice will be served. The world is very black and white for this blond, and dealing with gray morality is a struggle for her. Fiercely loyal, Lux does not go back on her word. Ever. It goes against everything that she stands for.
This is where she runs into trouble. Subjected to severe indoctrination for the purpose of creating a loyal soldier of Demacia, Lux can recite reasons for why she's so loyal to her country as well as why she wants to join the League, but the true reasons are often hidden far within herself--so far that oftentimes she is left unaware. Being torn away from home and security did something to her, broke something, and often she refuses to acknowledge that the real reason she keeps going, why she keeps smiling, is because she knows no other way to live. Striving to be like her brother, join the League and walk among other heroes, is the only thing she can think to grasp at anymore, her innocence and wonder--and in many ways herself--lost years ago. In some ways what is left is a shell of her former self, of a happy, inquisitive and loving young girl who idolized her other brother and was excited about her newly-budding gift of magic. |
POWERS |
ILLUMINATION Anything hit with one of Lux's skills is marked with Illumination. Anything she hits with a basic light attack or Final Spark that is marked with Illumination will take additional Psychic-type damage.
LIGHT BINDING Lux throws a sphere of trailing light in a straight line, hitting and snaring the first two enemies in a line. It does additional Psychic-type damage to both targets, with the second target only taking partial damage.
PRISMATIC BARRIER Lux shields herself and her allies with a warm, bright light, giving them boosted Special Defense. This can hit allies both coming and going and lasts for a few turns of combat.
LUCENT SINGULARITY Lux conjures a prismatic ball of light on the field, which rotates and spins around its center. Passing by the ball of light slows her enemies. Lucent Singularity can be prematurely detonated to do Psychic-type damage, or will explode on its own after one turn.
FINAL SPARK Lux floats into the air and summons all her power into one focal point, releasing it as a giant rainbow doom laser. This detonates any Illumination marks when it hits and does puns of damage tons of Fairy-type damage.
